Today I want to share with you my secret superpower. The one tool that’s totally free to use and at your disposal all the time. It has the power to change the course of your business, your relationships, your work and your whole life! Any guesses what it is?
It’s your MINDSET. I can’t begin to tell you how much my life has changed since I discovered the power of mastering your mindset. It’s such a small thing and yet it has such a big impact on your life. It can steer you into the comparison monsters, the black hole that is anxiety or when you learn how to master it, it can lift you up and place you on top of that finish line that is your DREAM life.
It’s such a funny thing to think about. How our thoughts are driving the show making us feel empowered or unworthy. So I am going to share with you my top 5 mindset shifts that will take your business (and life) to the next level.
We Live in an Abundant World
Most of us go through life with a daily mindset of “not enough”. Meaning, there’s not enough money, not enough good guys out there, not enough jobs… There’s this false preconception that we’ve all been tricked into believing that there is only “so much” of whatever it is we desire, like success, money, joy, love… the list is endless. This is called a Scarcity Mindset. People who live in this kind of mindset are often living in fear. Truthfully, you guys, it is sooooo easy to get pulled into this mindset. So easy to use it as an excuse as to not follow that precious Dream of yours. I know the feeling of not having enough money to fund your dream lifestyle, thinking there’s just not enough to go around. I know how horrible it is to be envious of others success, but I URGE you to shift your mindset to one that comes from love, is more joyful and less selfish: Abundance.
We seriously live in a abundant Universe, one where there is plenty to go around. The limit does not exist! Adopting an Abundant Mindset means truly believing that there is always enough. When you cling to an abundance mindset you will worry less, stress less, genuinely cheer others on without jealousy turning it’s ugly head, and actually achieve the things you want in an organic, magical way.
Happiness is Now, Not Later
When you’re working toward your Dream, do you love the journey? The sleepless nights, the obstacles, the hardships? Do you love all of it? Truly? Are you thinking that I’m crazy right now for asking if you love the hardships? Stay with me pal! One of the things that I went through for four years was placing my happiness in the future. I kept living with a mindset that building my business was going to be HARD and that when I finally achieved my dream I would be happy, but not in the meantime.
But here’s the thing. The finish line will keep moving, always. As you work towards your dream, it will evolve, grow and take you places you never thought you would go. So instead of thinking that you’ll be happy when ________ happens, be happy NOW. Live with the mindset that you’re living your dream life right now, because working towards it is a part of it ma friend! Savor every moment when you are building that dream life, because you wanna look back and see how joyful it was and how much of a badass you were for figuring that obstacle out.
Good for Her, Not for Me
One of my biggest mindset shifts to date. How many times have you felt the pull of the green envy monster? Have you felt jealous of others success, house, looks? Maybe you were scrolling on the Insta-machine, felt that searing anger creep up and instantly started to compare yourself. We’ve all been there. It is truly one of the hardest mindset shifts, to come from a place of love and support for strangers on the internet.
Our natural tendency when we see people who have more success is to envy them. Sometimes this envy can turn into belittling their achievements and it is ugly. You don’t really know their story and more often than not, you’re comparing their middle to your beginning which is not only unfair to them, but to you. Community versus competition is where it’s at. If you are working from a competitive mindset it can be a lonely road full of empty work, negative juju, and lack of originality. So practice saying “Good for her, not for me”. Remind yourself that just because someone’s accomplishments or lifestyle is different than your own, it does not mean you are doing anything wrong or will never be successful. What’s good for her doesn’t have to be good for you. Remember, we can only truly rise by lifting each other up.
There is Always an Opportunity for Growth
No matter what happens along the way, there is always an option for growth. With every obstacle and every big dream, there is a path for you to learn a new skill, ask for help, and keep on going. There has been studies that people have one of two types of mindsets: growth and fixed. A growth mindset is one that believes that you can learn anything and develop any skill. People with a growth mindset know, to quote Marie Forleo, that everything is figureoutable. On the opposite end we have a fixed mindset, a belief that you already possess all the skills and knowledge you will ever have. In other words, people with a fixed mindset will convince themselves that they can’t succeed before they even try, while a growth mindset will put in the time and effort to learn in order to succeed.
So listen up! No matter what type of mindset you have right now, the important thing is to keep your eyes and ears open! When you encounter an obstacle, make sure you see all the different paths. What can you do to grow and move past this obstacle? When you switch to a growth mindset it is easier to take the path less traveled and put in the work to achieve your goals. Mainly, don’t give up! There is always a way.
You Are Unique, Enough & Worthy
Let’s get this out of the way. YOU my friend, are worthy of having it all, of living your dreams of being deliciously happy. We often create our own cages that limit us from growing and following our dreams. Based off of past experiences and belief systems that are not serving us, we limit ourselves (subconsciously or consciously) by believing we are not enough. It is time to let those limiting beliefs go, strengthen your mindset and start boldly living your dreams.
There is no one on this planet, hell, Universe, that can do life the way you do! How freeing is that? You are the only you that ever was and ever will be. So stay in your lane, focus on your dream, goals, aspirations and know that even if you think it’s all been done before, it has not been done by YOU. As easy as it is to compare ourselves to others, know that it is your right as a human of this Earth to live out your dreams.
Your mindset determines your success. Good news is, we can totally control that. Making these simple mindset shifts can help you achieve the business success that you have been craving. So tell me, which one of the above 5 do you struggle most with?
