You either hate doing the same things every day or you thrive on organization and schedules, either way you need healthy habits to grow your business.
Whatever category you fall on, finding the right habits is what matters. I’m not here to tell you that you need to color coordinate your planner and have every single minute planned out in order to be more productive, quite the opposite ma friend. Adopting new daily habits that you love doing and incorporating small things that bring you joy will help you start having better, happier and brighter days. That will make you more productive and boost your energy to work on your business. I call these Happy Habits™.
It is not witchcraft or hearsay. Think about it, if you wake up at 7am, grab a bowl of cereal and plop yourself down on the couch mindlessly watching Netflix, then open your computer and read some emails, maybe start doing some work… how will that make you productive? I know that working from home makes it twice as hard to be productive (so many distractions!), but it doesn’t have to be this way. Ditto if you have a full-time job. I see you rushing to get to work, taking your breakfast on the go, thinking of that email you read late last night.
What if you actually had a happy morning? What if that morning set the tone for your entire day? What if you had little things throughout the day to help you stretch and relax giving you little doses of joy every few hours? What if at the end of the day you feel fulfilled and stupidly-happy-tired?
Not convinced yet? Here’s a handy dandy list of WHY incorporating Happy Habits™ to your life is a good thing:
Its a Form of Self Care
Habits don’t necesarily have to be all about organizing and scheduling your business tasks. Things like doing a moisturizing face mask every night after work, going out for a quick walk in the park after lunch or even brewing your own coffee are all habits. Incorporating healthy habits promotes self care and in turn it makes you happier 🙂
Your Business Literally Can’t Even Function Without Them
If there’s no sense of organization, your business will suffer. Again, you don’t need to have everything planned out to the T, but you do need to have some habits that nurture your business to grow. These are things like, following up with comments or sending out a newsletter every month, taking five minutes every morning to check your analytics. Making your presence felt with your audience is a habit your business needs. Doing monthly checkups to see how your website is preforming is important too. Creating habits around your business will help it grow.
They Stimulate Your Own Personal Development
Let’s say you really like to draw but you haven’t done it in a while. If you create a habit around it and you decide to draw at least 30 minutes every day, you will improve that skill! By improving your skills and talents you start growing and adding new tools and techniques to your noggin. Healthy habits that promote personal development are the best ones to have, you perfect your skills and feel awesome doing it.
It Helps Give You a Sense of Accomplishment
There’s research that says that if you make your bed every morning, it will promote a more productive day. This is because you will already feel accomplished, and so the rest of your day carries that feeling of positivity and fulfillment. Doing this one thing means that you already accomplished something, now imagine if you completed more than one habit!
Happy Habits™= Success, Happiness and Health!
You need healthy habits to grow your business and your life. When you establish habits you become a more happy human. I struggled for a while and I was not being productive because my days we’re all over the place with no real strategy or motive. Once I adopted some habits and practiced them every day I became much more productive and waaaaay happier. Not to mention I started to eat healthier which game me more energy.
Be honest with yourself and always find habits that you enjoy doing. I cannot stress this enough, always find things that bring you joy and make you a better YOU. There is no point in forcing yourself to do something you hate, you deserve to live the life you want and makes you happy.
