It has been such a long time coming and I am so excited to finally be sharing my first fashion post of the year a minimal Minnie Mouse outfit inspiration! Honestly, I cannot begin to tell you what a process it has been for me to be able to do this. I’m a very shy human and I don’t really consider myself fashionable, but I have never been able to shake this feeling of wanting to style outfits (especially if they are Disney related hehe).
It was one of my goals this year to be more open and to explore new creative outlets. Since I’m embracing a minimal lifestyle, I thought I would try to incorporate my love of Disney into it as well.
For Christmas, my husband surprised me with this very adorable Disney quote Kate Spade clutch and I almost burst into tears. If you have been following for a while, you know how obsessed I am with imagination (or Emmygination ????) and the wonder it creates in life. The first thing that I told him was that I was going to use it as fuel to dive out of my comfort zone and start doing more styled shoots.
I’m dying to create a capsule wardrobe for spring, and I have been sourcing a couple of pieces that I can mix and match including this suuuuper comfortable Madewell tank dress. I actually had it in black first and then saw that they introduced it in this rose color this winter so I had to have it.
I try to subtly express my love of Disney every day as I feel like it keeps me inspired and magical. So when I saw these minimal polka dotted tights at Target my eyes popped out of my head in the shape of hearts like cartoons (because I’m basically a walking animated character). I also added the adjustable gold Kate Spade bow bracelet that my dad got me for my birthday last year, he said it was a Minnie bracelet. See, minimal items that show my love of Disney hehe.
When I first quit my full time job, I used to dream of doing style posts and get to do creative empowering photoshoots… I just never had the guts to start. I felt like I wasn’t good enough or stylish enough. Better late than never! So hopefully I can keep this momentum up and share more minimal outfits with you guys! Not all of them will be Disney, promise! But for now, starting with my main gal Minnie and that Disney clutch as inspiration was perfect.
Oh, there’s actually different styles of the Kate Spade clutch! I just have a preference for no glitter and turns out the one where the quote speaks to me the most is the only one sans glitter. I know! coming from a girl who loves magic and pixie dust, I actually don’t own a single item with glitter. Le gasp!
